BBC Introducing Gig

It’s taken a while to get round to posting this but about 3 weeks ago I performed with Lauren Wright for a BBC Introducing Gig. It was a weird one because it was being recorded for radio at the same time, so had this live gig/studio feel to it. But it was a great day! Here are some pics and also a video…

Vocal Recording

I recently had a vocal recording session with Lauren Wright but due to it being Xmas and all this is the first chance I’ve had to upload anything. We managed to get the lead vocals of one new song done – 5 more left! Looks like its going to stretch into the new year.

Recording Acoustic Guitar

Well it’s been a busy couple of weeks, which is never a bad thing! Had some news through that the artist I’m currently working with, Lauren Wright, will be supporting ‘The Saturdays’ on Dec 8th at the LG Arena, which I’m obviously looking forward  to playing.

Have also been working on her new demos with Lawrence Harvey. Recorded acoustic guitar this week at Kidderminster College studios which went pretty well. I am currently editing these recordings in my little music room. Hopefully recording vocals in the next 2 weeks.

Jekyll and Hyde Production

Taking a little break from Lauren Wright themed posts, I thought I’d share some piccies from the school production I’m currently working on. 8 months of hard work from all the music staff, crew and of course the students themselves will be concluded next week as the production opens it’s curtains to begin a 5 night run. My piece in this very big jigsaw is engineering all the sound (actors’ radio mics, sound FX, orchestra) and making it blend all into an amazing sonic experience for the audience. If there socks haven’t been blown off – then I’m not doing my job right.

‘Kiss Me’ Video

It’s been a ridiculously busy week but…the music video for Lauren Wright’s ‘Kiss Me’ has been released today. Take a look at it below. I started songwriting with Lauren about this time last year (a year that has flown by). I’m looking forward getting all the new material I’m currently working on for her finished – should be done around mid December!

Well, looks like I’ve got me self a blog…

After watching everyone else do one, I’ve finally bit the bullet a decade after the rest of the world. I just hope I have something interesting to say. If you’re wondering who I am and what I’m about then mosey on over to the ‘About’ section. I’m going to start off with a shameless plug connected with an artist I’ve been working with for about a year now.

Her name is Lauren Wright and we recently played the LG Arena, Birmingham before Britney Spears last week. Her debut single is out now, which I co-wrote with a good friend of mine (Lawrence Harvey) and can be downloaded from iTunes.
